LANDERS, William Carl “Bill”
William Carl Landers, age 85, of Burlington passed away peacefully on April 17th, 2019. Beloved husband of Barbara Anne for 64 years. Loving father of the late Richard Landers (Susan), James Landers (Ilse) and Nancy Murphy (Garth). Cherished grandfather of Stephanie (Greg), Sarah (Branden), Beth (Jeff), Marianne, Michael, Christina and great grandfather of Rowan. Survived by his brother Don and two sisters Marjie and Pat. Bill enjoyed a long career with CN Rail which took him across Canada and provided many stories and experiences to share. His wit and humor filled every family gathering with fun and laughter. His family will miss his wisdom and caring guidance.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital who cared for Bill in his final days.
As per Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block North of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 3-5p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bill are asked to please consider Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. www.smithsfh.com
