Passed away at the Hamilton General Hospital on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, in his 97th year. Beloved husband of Pamela for 50 years. Loving father of Toni Iacobucci (Dino). Proud grandfather of Sabrina Iacobucci-Mazajlo (Jerry) and great-grandfather of Alexander. Predeceased by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Walter was born in the Ukraine in 1923, where he spent many years in a farming village. After WWII, he immigrated to Canada where he met his wife Pamela and started a family. He was tremendously proud of his garden, to which he devoted much of his time during his retirement. He will be fondly remembered in his neighbourhood for his friendly smile and perfectly manicured lawn. He was a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and his beloved Hamilton Tiger Cats. Family and friends will miss his great wit and kindness. Throughout the last decade, his fierce will to survive helped him face illness with great courage. He will be dearly missed by his adoring family and his beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Jackie. A heartfelt thanks to the special doctors and nurses of St. Joseph's Healthcare and the Hamilton General Hospital for their compassionate care and encouragement to Walter during his illness.
