Obituary for Sylvia (Peggy) Shippee
SHIPPEE, Sylvia (Peggy) - Peggy Shippee (née Shaw) a long-time Burlington resident, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2019 at the age of 97.
Predeceased by her husband Fred, children Eric and Bonnie, and son-in-law Doug. She is survived by her son, Rod (Sue) and grandchildren, Kim (Rojay), Jen (Hayo), Liz (Chris), Jessica (Bryan) and Joshua. She was a beloved great-granny to Kyra, Chloe, Brendan, Ryan and Nate.
Born in Sherbrooke, QC, Peggy moved to Burlington in 1962 where she and her husband Fred quickly became active members of their community. They were founding members of Pineland Presbyterian Church where Peggy remained active for many years. Peggy was a kind, loving and supremely caring woman. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In keeping with Peggy's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private interment will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated
