I met Sam at our Balance Class at the Y in Waterdown. It turned out we were kinda related!!! My sister married John Eydt and although no longer married to John (who is also now deceased ), we all stayed in touch with each other. When I asked Sam if he knew John and Pete Eydt, you could have blown me over with a feather when he said, "Yes". At his request, I gave him Pete's no. and am pretty sure Sam contacted Pete when he was in London. After that, I sort of thought of Sam as a distant relative, and enjoyed seeing him at class. I was so sorry to hear that he had died, I admired his determination to try and stay healthy, despite his heart problems . He told me, "No more heart attacks" and I guess he was right. My heart goes out to his family. Vivienne

The Balance class at Flamborough YMCA are deeply saddened about this news. Sam, no matter how he was feeling had the most genuine lovely smile and a kind word to all and an incredibly positive attitude. I will miss seeing him in his usual place and his determination to do well. Rest well Sam. You deserve to rest. Will think about you everytime I teach this class. Peace to your loving family! Virginia xx
