Obituary for Mary Catherine Buckley (Kesselring)

Mary Buckley (née Kesselring) passed away on Saturday, July 6 at St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas, Ontario in her 90th year. She was the beloved mother of Joanne Buckley and dear wife of George Buckley, who passed away in 1992. She was also very close throughout her life to Bill and Ethel Weick and their daughters, Donna and Darlene, who loved her and cared for her to the end. She was known for her kindness, her generosity, her incredibly capable approach to the world, and her devotion to her family. Everyone who knew her remembers her sense of humour, her love of animals and flowers, and her ability to cook fabulous, unforgettable meals--apparently effortlessly--with creativity and flair. Mary had many talents and abilities, an eye for beauty, great powers of observation, a wry wit, common sense, wisdom and insight, as well as resilience beyond imagination. She was a cheerful and steadfast caregiver, and she always gave so much of herself to ensure that her husband and daughter and others she loved had comforts and pleasures and opportunities that they would never have had without her. She wanted no service or fuss made about her passing since many of those she loved and touched have passed on before her. She has been cremated, and her ashes will be interred beside her husband at Forest Lawn Cemetery in London, Ontario. All who knew her will always love her and miss her.
