RYAN, Lorna Thompson (nee Janes)
Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 7, 2019 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in her 91st year. Predeceased by her parents Dr. Lorne and Doris Janes, and her brothers Bob and Bill Janes. Loving wife of 61 years to George. Loving mother and best friend to Michael, Sheila (Greg) and Sandy (John). Adored nana to Ryan and Jake. Lorna was the most selfless, extraordinary human being who loved her family beyond words. She was a talented artist and had a passion for entertaining friends and family from all over the world.
In keeping with Lorna’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block North of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 5 – 8 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held in the Chapel at Smith’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. followed immediately by a Celebration of Life at the Burlington Golf and Country Club, 422 North Shore Blvd. E, Burlington. A private interment will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Hamilton-Burlington SPCA would be appreciated.
