Obituary

Surrounded by his family Joey passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington, on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the age of 51. In the 8 months Joey battled cancer, he never gave up and insisted “I got this”. Joey is the beloved husband of Cheryl (nee Mulé), loving father of Katrina and Jack, cherished brother of Mary Jo Heeney (Mike), Michael (Kathleen), and Stephen (Laura) and loved son-in-law of Charles and Ethel Mulé. Joey will be dearly missed by all his nieces, nephews and many friends. He is also predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary Frances (nee Brown).

Joey was a huge fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs so we know the cup will be coming home soon.

We were so saddened to learn of Joey's passing. We have known Joey since he was a little guy at St. John's school, Burlington. He was a quiet, smiling little boy who was the pride of his Mom and Dad. We worked closely with his Mom, Fran and his Dad, Joe through the school board. Joe and Fran always spoke so highly of Joey, his wife Cheryl and their kids, Katrina and Jack. Joey will be missed by his family and all who knew him. Sincere condolences to his family and siblings. Brian and Pat Fichaud

We're so sorry to hear of your loss. My son played lacrosse with Jack for a year when Jack was our goalie. I spent many hours with Joe that season at practices and games talking lacrosse (and Leafs) and he was a great person to spend time with; we met up a few times to take the boys to see the Jr. A Chiefs as well. Our hearts are heavy hearing the news of Joe's passing--such a great guy. Steve, Lori, Ryan & Caroline Haeney.
