Passed away at Burloak Long Term Care, on Friday, May 24, 2019, three weeks after her 101st birthday. Beloved wife of the late Arend. Loving mother of John (Ann) VanderVeen, Florence (Bill) Van Ginkel, late Fenno (Linda) VanderVeen, Charles (Linda) VanderVeen, Siefko (Nicole) VanderVeen, Irene (Robert) Cooke and Randolph (Jean) VanderVeen. Proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Gaye will be greatly missed by her friends and family. A special thank you to the staff at Burloak Long Term Care for their care and compassion.
Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 12:00pm until the time of Service of Remembrance at 1:00pm. Followed by Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Reception to follow at New Street Christian Reformed Church (3422 New Street, Burlington). For those who wish, donations in memory of Gaye can be made to a charity of choice.
