RAE, Esther (nee Kostiuk) -
Passed away peacefully with family by her side at The Carpenter Hospice on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the age of 78. Predeceased by loving husband of 58 years, Paul A. Rae (2018). Cherished mother of Steven Rae and Kevin Rae (Sherry Kenny). Proud grandmother of Paul Rae, Jennifer Bryce (Eric), Ashley Welburn (Scott), and Kinsley Rae, and great-grandmother of 5. Dear sister of Walter Kostiuk, and sister-in-law of Brian Rae (Dolores) and Ann Louise Arsenault (Roger). Esther will also be missed by extended family and numerous friends. Esther was passionate about her career at Canada Center for Inland Waters. She had a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoyed watching the company grow over her 36 years there. Esther was generous and caring, smart and strong willed, and always saw the good in others. She felt blessed to know so many wonderful people whom she always kept in heart. Private Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 4pm – 6pm with vigil prayers and tributes commencing at 4pm. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations in Esther’s memory to The Carpenter Hospice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
