I grew up three doors down from the Pendred"s. I remember Mrs. Pendred sewing my dance recital costumes and having lunch at their house when my Mother worked. To this day my favourite comfort food is beans and toast, which I remember fondly eating at the Pendred's kitchen table. So sorry to hear of her passing, Kim Smith McGinley

I met Eileen & Richard not long after I moved to Canada in 1970 and began to sing in the choir at St. Lukes in Burlington. They used to give me a ride to church on Sunday's. Eileen was a great seamstress and made the dresses for my bridesmaids when I got married in 1974. In 1980 Eileen & Richard agreed to be godparents to my youngest son, Trevor. We remained in touch even with Kevin and I living overseas or in the US and several times when I was back for a visit Eileen invited me to stay at her home where I was always made to feel so welcome.
My sincere condolences to Richard, Helen & Joanne, your partners, and your beautiful families. Eileen was an amazing woman with a warm heart, fabulous smile and a great spirit. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. All our love - Sue & Kevin Coleman

I remember meeting Eileen in 1954, when I was on holiday in the Isle of Man. We have been friends for a very long time, and the one thing about Eileen that was always constant, was her very engaging smile. Whenever you met her, your day always became a little bit brighter, thanks to her smile and her lovely Yorkshire accent. She was a devoted wife to Richard and mother to her two daughters and to all her family. Eileen, you will be missed. -- Malcolm

My deepest sympathy to Richard and family. Eileen was devoted not only to her family but also to the children at the Burlington Dance Academy. She worked tirelessly on their costumes for performances and always had a smile for everyone.
