Obituary for Betty Eleanor Purdy

Betty Eleanor Purdy, the Queen of Camelot Drive, passed away on Wednesday September 11, 2019, wrapped in the love of many generations of friends and family.

Betty was born on October 20, 1930 and raised in Winnipeg, MB, to Townsley and Eleanor Boland. On June 7, 1952, she married the very handsome Larry Purdy, and in turn raised her own family - Diane Elizabeth and John Jared - before moving to Burlington, ON.

During her life, she made literally hundreds of friends - too many to name. Her "family" consisted of kin, neighbours, colleagues, and people she crossed paths with regularly. After a career in executive administration, she turned her attention to being a full-time mother, wife, aunt, grandmother, and friend.

Betty is looking forward to seeing her late husband again, as well as her siblings Larry and June. Remembering her sass, class, and smart ass ways are her daughter Diane (Keith), son Jared (Monica); grandchildren Nancy, Rachel (Patrick), Laura (Craig), Oscar, and great-granddaughter Tessa; sister-in-law Auntie Pat/Bluebell; and brother-in-law Gerry Purdy (Joyce); and nieces and nephews Patricia, Bob, Jim, Murray, Scott, Ward, and Sue; and the many, many very special friends she brought into her warm, loving fold.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Plan Canada and the Brant Hospital in Betty's name are gratefully welcomed. Alternatively, please raise a glass of rum and ginger in her name.
