Obituary

DELVECCHIO, Jonathan Michael

Passed away on Saturday April 20th, 2019 after a long and hard fought battle with mental illness and the debilitating effect that it had both on his mind and his body. Jonathan was an IT professional who worked in both the public and private sectors and accumulated a broad spectrum of experience prior to his illness. He enjoyed attending music festivals, producing music and riding his motorcycle. Weight lifting was always on his agenda. Jonathan loved the outdoors. Camping, hiking, cycling, and taking walks with his family were his favourite activities. To all who knew him, Jonathan was a quiet, soft-spoken, kind, generous and compassionate man who was always prepared to lend a helping hand.

Jonathan was the beloved husband of Natalia Delvecchio, loving father of Sofia and Marko Delvecchio, devoted son of Olga Delvecchio and the Late Glen Delvecchio, dear brother of Analisa and Anthony, and son-in-law of Ivan and Halyna Kavchuk. He will be missed by his many extended family members and friends. Most of all, he will be sadly missed by his children who looked forward to their daily walks with him, their family playtime activities together, and his tutoring in French.

Dear Jon, I was waiting to post as I was looking for this picture, I moved here at the end of Grade 5 from Montreal and you were the first Friend I made @ St Philippe! You became my best friend, Through thick and thin for life, 32 years man! Even though as we got older and started our own families and careers we kept in touch as much as we could, I wish that our schedules worked out more (booo! to adulthood and responsibility) Reminds us what is really important in life and let that be a reminder to us all, Your birthday parties rocked as a kid, Your families home blew my mind and I loved your Grandmothers garden and sneaking late night to play Leisure Suit Larry on your dads pc :P Man were we so scared or what thinking your parents would wake up heheh, I remember when I introduced you to Drum and base and the scene (so many good nights and memories I will cherish) Dude! You were the best best friend anyone could ask for, Loving, Caring and always put others first, You lit up a room man with your smile and presence, I Love you Jon and will miss you but never forget I think of you lot's I play the sets we loved, I will see you when I stop by to visit, Love Cote

It is with deep sadness to hear the passing of Jon. I lived in the same building as Jon in Toronto. Though we did not know eachother very well, Jon had helped me and my family many years ago when my father was very ill in the hospital for many months. Jon had reached out to another building resident for the use of a parking space as we were struggling with the accumulating parking fees. Jon's act of kindness in my darkest time has always remained in my heart. Thank you Jonathan. My deepest condolences to your beautiful family.
