John Thomas Jaconelli of Burlington Ontario, born in Helensburgh Scotland July 17, 1932. After a courageous struggle, John passed away with family by his side at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on April 29, 2019. Husband of Jeanette Jaconelli (nee Thomson). Predeceased by his son John Howard (2001). Father of Janine Jaconelli, grandfather of Theresa MacPherson. Brother of Anna Delville. Brother in law to Catharine Davidson (Jim) and Mame Daniels. Godfather to Tim Davidson and Sandy Thomson Jenkins. John will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and family back ‘home in Scotland’. Best buddy to Jacqueline Burnie. Devoted and caring neighbours Leighanne Neeson and Irene Bastos. Heartfelt appreciation to the Halton Healthcare Dialysis units, OTMH 7th Floor South and Medical Team. A sincere thank you to our community and many special friends who have been there for us in our time of need. As per John’s wishes, Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 5-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church (2016 Blairholm Avenue, BURLINGTON), on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11:00am. Reception to immediately follow at the Masonic Lodge, 459 Brant Street, BURLINGTON. Interment to take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Burlington, on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at 10:30am. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated.
