Obituary for Hunter Lauren Gray

GRAY, Hunter Lauren

Passed away peacefully at home of natural causes on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the tender age of 19. Hunter was born July 26th 1999 at St. Joseph’s Hospital where she joined and completed her family of five. Cherished daughter of Stan and Esilda Gray. Loving sister of Connor Gray (Peyton Hart) and Taylor Gray (Geoff Mayo). Niece, Cousin and Grandchild to the rest of her family the Petrou’s, Pereira’s, Simoes’, Romanetti’s and Fragata’s. She will be sorely missed by her very close circle of friends and their families. She is welcomed into the loving arms of Grandpa Bill, Vavo Joseph, Nana, Aunt Nemesia and Cousin Christopher.

It is with deep sorrow that we have lost our beautiful, transcendent little girl, who passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at home. She is and always will be remembered by her father Stan, mother Esilda, older siblings Taylor and Connor.

She will forever be remembered for her snorting laughter, quirky dance moves, love of animals, beautiful voice, love of all music and her desire to not only be surrounded by the people who meant most but for always protecting them and making the time to listen, lend a hand and provide a shoulder for others to lean on. Her love of nature, the outdoors, and constant need to cherish and nurture the environment was passed on and her courage and passion for living all experiences was felt and resonated with all of those around her. She never judged anyone ever, choosing to focus on the inner beauty and what she could learn. She is a fearless adventurer, and is still fearlessly charting her own path that she is on. She was well travelled with her family and her family will honour her by continuing to travel and fulfilling her experiences that she looked forward to completing. She loved her pet dog Anuke, Cat Sam and the newest member of our family Kaleaha her bunny. She had many names that will always surround her and hold her with warm welcoming arms - Daughter, Sister, Niece, Cousin, Grandchild, Teacher, Confidant, Student and Friend. She worked endlessly to achieve her goals as a student at Wilfrid Laurier University, taking Global Studies. May she always remember how much she is loved and how very proud her family is of the young woman she grew to be and the many accomplishments she achieved in her short time here with us. Hunter always told us how much she loved each of us and we always made sure she knew how much she is loved in the many texts, phone calls and private moments we had with her. It is with a tear filled smile, a quiet laugh and all out joy and happiness that her memories and moments are held. The family wishes to thank the outstanding and heroic effort made by the many first responders that worked tirelessly to save Lauren in her moment of greatest need.
It is with great appreciation and pride that we share some of her words in the hopes that they and others will always be remembered.

“Whispering willow, keep me in your sight, make sure I’ll be fine here, just for tonight. Whispering willow, we know you are far above, we miss you so much here, can’t break our love”. “To what may happen in the future, to the blank places not yet discovered and memories not shared yet, may our bonds be forever strong”.

May you be at peace and know that you will always be remembered. To the moon and back little girl.
