HAID, Albert John –
Passed away surrounded by his loving family, at St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton, on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Donna (nee Mason) for 45 years. Loving father of Allison (Timothy Caughey), Melissa (James Boughner) and Andrew (Natalie). Cherished Grandpa of Abigail, Madison, Eloise, Ben, Emily, Ainsley, Alexander and Lear. Dear brother of Arthur (Monica), Harry (Rosie), late Edgar Diehl (Pauline) and late Willi Diehl (Anni). Devoted son of late George Haid and Emma Haid (nee Hoeschele). Al and Donna are co-Founders of Children’s Education Funds Inc., which has its corporate head office in Burlington. Along with Al’s very close family, his work was his greatest passion and pride. Al was very proud that this company helped many thousands of Canadian families save for a post-secondary education for their children through its Registered Education Savings Plans. Together, Al and Donna worked very hard but they made time to enjoy their travels to many parts of the world. Al will be sadly missed but forever remembered for his steadfast determination and leadership by his family, colleagues, clients and friends. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333 on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 6-9 p.m. and Friday, May 3, 2019 from 9:30 until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Reception at the funeral home.
