Rocco Macri was born on August 17th, 1939 and passed away peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar on January 24th, 2019 surrounded by family. He was born to the late Antonio and Cicilia in Serra San Bruno, Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy. Predeceased by loving wife (2017) Bruna Giuseppina Macri. Loving father of Antonio (Donna), Raffaela (Ennio), Mirella (Nick), and Salvatore (Rosie). Loving grandfather of Fabio, Paul and Joseph Giorno, Julianna Janicas, Rocco and Joey Macri, and Celia and Vanessa De Fazio. Brother to the late Giuseppa (Giovanni) Maiolo, Rosa (Salvatore) Cunsolo, Catarine, Francesca, Domenico (Brunina), Vincenzo (Grazia and Teresa), Carmelo (Giovanna), Bruno. Survived by Anne, Stefano (Pat). Will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Rocco came to Canada in 1957 in search of a better life. He married the love of his life Bruna Giuseppina nee Muzzi a few years later on July 11th, 1959. He prided himself of being a man of hard work, perseverance and compassion. Rocco was a gentle man that loved to laugh, share stories with his family and grandchildren, and be a role model to his four children. He always saw the best in people, lived life to the fullest and always knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face. His light-heartedness and kindness is how his family will always remember him.

Many thanks to Dr. Joe Pontoriero, and the nurses and doctors of the 3rd and 5th floor, and Palliative Care team, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Donations to the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at the Toronto General Hospital (www.uhn.ca/pmcc) and the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
